ANXIETY

Anxiety maybe persistent, excessive, or routinely triggered by situations that aren’t an actual threat. Mild anxiety might be unsettling and only occur twice a week, while severe anxiety may seriously affect day-to-day living. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders: Fifth Edition (DSM-V) classifies anxiety disorders into several main types,

OBESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) features a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears (obsessions) that lead lead a person to do repetitive behaviors (compulsions). These obsessions and compulsions interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress.

DEPRESSION

Depression which can also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. To be diagnosed with depression, the symptoms must be present for at least two weeks. There are different types of depression, some of which develop due to specific circumstances.

ADHD/ADD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. For a person to receive a diagnosis of ADHD, the symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity must be chronic or long-lasting, impair the person’s functioning, and cause the person to fall behind typical development for their age. Stress, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, and other physical conditions or illnesses can cause similar symptoms to those of ADHD/ADD.

BIPOLAR

Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). Bipolar I disorder. You've had at least one manic episode that may be preceded or followed by hypomanic or major depressive episodes. In some cases, mania may trigger a break from reality (psychosis). Bipolar II disorder. You've had at least one major depressive episode and at least one hypomanic episode, but you've never had a manic episode.

SOCIAL ANXIETY

For children, anxiety about interacting with adults or peers may be shown by crying, having temper tantrums, clinging to parents or refusing to speak in social situations. Performance type of social anxiety disorder is when you experience intense fear and anxiety during speaking or performing in public but not in other types of more general social situations.

PANIC DISORDER

People with panic disorder have frequent and unexpected panic attacks. These attacks are characterized by a sudden wave of fear or discomfort or a sense of losing control even when there is no clear danger or trigger. Panic disorder often begins in the late teens or early adulthood. Women are more likely than men to develop panic disorder.

PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. People who have PTSD may feel stressed or frightened, even when they are not in danger. Some people recover within 6 months, while others have symptoms that last much longer. In some people, the condition becomes chronic.
